Q & A
Allow Me to Be of Service
What is your work experience?
I have worked as a certified interpreter in Texas since 2018. I worked as an educational interpreter from 2018-2020 and then opened my own business. In 2020, I started working as a community interpreter for my company and various interpreting agencies around the area. I have worked in many settings- mental health, paralegal, religious, educational, medical, and workplace. Prior to 2018, I worked as a pre-certified interpreter in community settings. Our town has an annual Christmas tree lighting and parade, and I interpreted these as a pre-certified interpreter, as well as commencement ceremonies for the local community college and university.

I have tutored ASL students in the past of all ages, as well as teaching beginner and intermediate ASL classes for my business and the community college. I have mentored undergraduate ASL students and plan on expanding my repertoire.
Do I need any ASL knowledge or interpreting experience to be mentored by you?
No! I like to combine mentoring and tutoring/private lessons under one umbrella. Whether you're just learning about ASL or have 20+ years of experience, you can always learn something new. I would be happy to mentor or tutor you regardless of skill level. Most people with little to no experience in ASL prefer to take a beginner and intermediate course before beginning mentoring and/or private lessons due to cost efficiency. However, this is not the case for everyone. Please reach out if you have any questions!
